Making Schools Fun and Exciting

The "Making-Schools-Fun-and-Exciting" Project was initiated by Prof. Sung-il Kim in 2003 as an afterschool program at a nearby public middle school and represents yet another attempt by bMRI to improve authentic learning situations. The goals of this Project are two-fold. The first and primary goal was to enhance adolescents' motivation to learn in school by providing them with necessary instructional scaffolding, opportunities for extracurricular activities, and role models. The second goal was to provide the students in the College of Education at Korea University with the experience of teaching students in school settings. The Project is overseen by the COE and approximately 200 middle school students and 40 college undergraduate volunteers participate in the program every semester.
